The Rise in Scrapbooking Popularity

By Allen Simonson

There is an expanded national past time here in the United States and its called scrapbooking, thousands upon thousands are taking to it. One of the most common allures to the business is the ability for people to be creative and not be compared to other kids, (like in school.) Being able to talk and catch up with friends while at the same time working on creative assignments can help people feel connected. The end result of a completed project is often what keeps the industry well-liked among women.

Millions and millions of dollars are earned each year with scrapping supplies and materials and the business is only growing. There are so many tools and out there that manufactures have a hard time keeping ahead of demand. The new tools that always come out are things like knives, the Cricket and made to order paper. Aside from the tools the techniques are quickly developing and are more and more creative as new people bring new ideas to the segment.

The rise in popularity in scrapbooking has given rise to more peripheral industries. The magazine market has become large because there was a market for something first, this is how the new trends come out. This is the case with scrapbooking as well, Northridge Media produces over 5 different scrapbooking and craft style magazines and have consumers in 10 different countries. In an effort to develop creative talents people use scrapbooking to commemorate events of importance in their lives, if it is your memories or the memories of the ones you admire.

This is part of the allure to the industry because you not only get to spend time being creative and work with your friends but you also get to commemorate the most memorable moments in your life. individuals will often use scrapping as a way to journalize or keep a record of their childs lives. When the market gets bigger there will be opportunities for people to sell their abilities.

Because you cannot necessarily study in college in scrapbooking people who have earned certain skills can hold small events and charge money to teach new trends. Additionally people develop form styles where all you have to do is drag and drop your own photos into the boxes. Obviously this is not the best way to do it, nor does it produce the most original product but it is efficient for those who dont have the time.
